Green Giraffe on Stripes
21 August 2014
Yay! Finally completed this project. Very happy to have completed it before my goal of the end of August. I'm happy with the outcome - although it was certainly a lot more work than it looks. Glad I decided not to stitch the white as it would have extended the time to complete dramatically for very little gain. Now to begin Green Elephant on Dots which goes together with this pattern. Once both are completed I will send them for framing.

I reached my goal of completing the third yellow stripe and am nearly half way through the fourth. I have decided to leave the white stripes unstitched as it didn't add much to the overall effect and would take months and months to complete. So I only have 1.5 stripes to go. By the June update I hope the fourth stripe will be completed to be on track to complete the project by the end of August. Other projects in circulation through June is Row of Love and my newest (and most time consuming) project Elizabeth (Ellie) who was born 29 April. So time to stitch has dramatically reduced but still chipping away at it one little bit at a time!

My monthly update on this project. Have completed two full yellow lines and on to a third. The scope of this project is very deceiving. It is a simple design but has around 50,000 stitches so is very time consuming. I got to a stage where I could just not look at another yellow thread! I am going on rotation with The Flock just to keep some variety in my stitching. My next update in May (or perhaps a bit later as I will have a newborn) will hopefully show at least the third line totally complete (with a start on the fourth - hopefully!).

Giraffe is finally complete! Now I have an awful lot of yellow and white to stitch in the stripes behind the Giraffe. Hoping to finish the yellow before the baby is born (due 28 April) and then will only need to finish off the white.
